Field Services Engineer - F/T (Massachusetts)

Job Summary:

The Field Services Engineer is a field based, customer-facing role that installs, services and troubleshoots equipment used at our customer’s medical offices. In this position, you must be able to clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly and professional manner.

This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving skills who can work independently with little supervision. Must be able to manage service calls with flexibility, while possessing superb customer service skills.

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):

  • Must have basic network troubleshooting skills;
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits with professionalism;
  • Diagnose software/hardware issues and determine proper solutions;
  • Install/configure new equipment to requirements/standards;
  • Apply necessary computer images for customer equipment;
  • Update/maintain tickets with proper detailed notes in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Self-motivated and goal driven, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a busy environment;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Capable of coordinating multiple tasks, responding to changing priorities, and reacting to short deadlines;
  • Proficiency with various hardware and software equipment and operating systems, as well as a working knowledge of network systems and management;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to provide own transportation and be onsite at customer locations as needed;
  • Willingness to travel locally (up to 30-40%);
  • Abide by the company’s cell and motor vehicle safe driving rules.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a technology major and MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years’ recent experience in related customer-facing technical support roles;
  • Windows Desktop Operating Systems, including Windows 10;
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot computers, computer related peripheral hardware, software and network connectivity.

Special Requirements:

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer; Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs, unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking, and must be able to travel and have reliable transportation to get to and from customer locations on a daily basis.

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. Due to the nature of the business, must be willing to work on an on-call rotating support schedule, nights and/or weekends.
